Experience

Mark K. Buchi, a partner in the Salt Lake City office, has been with the firm since 1986. His practice emphasis is state and local tax matters, administrative law, government relations and sports law. He served as the firm's CEO as chair of the firm?s Executive Committee (2000-2001) and as a member of the firm's Executive Committee (1995 to 2001); and as the managing partner of the Salt Lake City Office (1988-1995).

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Buchi served as division chief over the tax and business regulation division for the attorney general of Utah. He also served as chairman of the Utah State Tax Commission. In this cabinet-level position, he served two governors and became thoroughly familiar with the budgetary, accounting, and operational procedures of state government. Mr. Buchi also served on the executive committee of the Multi-State Tax Commission.

He is currently a registered lobbyist in Utah and works closely with various government entities. Mr. Buchi travels extensively to give speeches to numerous government and corporate sector companies around the country.
