Mike Roben is currently the Managing Director of KOM Consulting, PLLC. Mike has been providing state and local tax consulting services to clients for over 17 years. His expertise is the area of multi-state sales and use, gross receipts, franchise, and income taxes, with particular emphasis in Washington State and local excise taxes. Mike represents clients in audit defense, appeals, settlement negotiations, drafting ruling requests, refund claims, corporate transactions and planning, and assisting clients in evaluating legislative and regulatory changes. Mike represents a wide variety of companies primarily in the technology, software, telecommunications, manufacturing, publishing, financial services, and real estate industries.

Prior to starting KOM Consulting in 2005, Mike was a Director of State and Local Taxes with the Seattle office of PriceWaterhouseCoopers from May 2002 through July 2005 and a Senior Manger with Arthur Andersen prior to May 2002.

Mike is a member the Association of Washington Business ('AWB') and Washington Society of CPAs, a member of AWB's Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee, Co-chair of AWB's Municipal Tax Reform Committee, and a member of WSA's Tax Committee. Mike was also appointed by the Washington Department of Revenue to represent the business community over the past 7 years in addressing municipal tax reform and studying the impacts of the municipal tax reform bill, HB 2030 passed in 2003.

Mike is a married father of three children and enjoys skiing and hiking and playing soccer, basketball and cards.
