Zach has over 15 years of experience in state and local taxation. Zach provides a variety of state and local tax services, including income tax, sales/use tax and credits and incentives, to several Fortune 500 companies. He has considerable expertise in the state and local tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, managing and settling controversies and income/franchise tax planning. He has also implemented corporate restructurings, and identified and resolved related business issues.

Zach has significant experience in multistate sales and use taxes, and has obtained substantial sales and use tax refunds for his clients. He has obtained these results by drawing on his established relationships with state tax officials, using his keen negotiating skills and working collaboratively with state tax officials. In this regard, Zach has worked extensively with audit teams, supervisors and managers in the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and the New York City Department of Finance and other state and local agencies.

Prior to founding GMG, Zach was a partner in the State and Local Tax group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. At PwC, Zach was instrumental in developing and leading the firm's domestic tax optimization group. Zach has a B.A. in Accounting from Queen's College and a J.D. from The Benjamin Cardozo School of Law.
