Rick leads the team at Blue Slate, and also spearheads Board and Investor Relations. Since co-founding the company in June of 2000, he has guided the growth and profitability of the business. Drawing on his operational expertise, he has been the driving force behind strategic, profitable growth at Blue Slate. During his 3-year tenure as CEO, he has led the team to double digit year-over-year growth and exponential team expansion. He has also successfully secured outside investment to fuel company growth, and expanded the Board of Managers to ensure outside control of the executive team. Rick embraces external advice while adroitly maintaining the standards of integrity he expects.

Rick's passion for operational excellence and customer delight has served as a paradigm for all things Blue Slate. He is quick to herald the team when there is success, and even quicker to roll up his sleeves to collaborate on challenges. Rick draws on broad management experiences including finance, operations, mergers and acquisitions, business planning, business measurement and business development to design high quality measurable business processes. He utilizes a quantitative approach and candid communication to drive positive change both in Blue Slate and in client engagements. Clients rely on Rick for his clarity and ability to build and lead teams in demanding, high performance environments.

Prior to joining Blue Slate, Rick worked for 13 years in management spanning public accounting, Fortune 10 companies and start-up environments. At GE Energy, Rick progressed through increasingly responsible positions culminating with leading a $400 million dollar global business as the Manager of Finance. His other experiences included cost accounting for a multi-billion dollar manufacturing division, process integration of a $ 2 billion foreign acquisition, financial leadership for a $300 million manufacturing and engineering division, and multiple special assignments including purchasing two competitive businesses.

Rick began his career as an auditor, and subsequently a Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young. His experiences included manufacturing, banking, healthcare and public sector engagements.

Rick is a Cum Laude graduate of Siena College with a BS in Business Administration, and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State.

Rick lives in Clifton Park, NY with his wife Angela, and his children, Ryan, Hannah and Hunter.
